WECOM FIBER OPTIC INSTALLATION

Mountain View Resort Co-op Notice to Members Regarding WECOM Fiber Installation Project

May 26, 2026

Dear Members,

The Board of Directors would like to provide an update regarding the upcoming installation of fiber-optic internet service by WECOM within Mountain View Resort Co-op.

After careful review and discussion, the Board has approved a project that will allow WECOM to install fiber-optic infrastructure throughout the community. This installation is intended to provide members with access to modern, high-speed internet service and improve communications capabilities within the resort.

No Cost to Mountain View Resort Co-op

The Board is pleased to report that the installation of this fiber-optic infrastructure will be funded entirely through federal grant programs obtained by WECOM. As a result, Mountain View Resort Co-op and its members will incur no cost for the installation of the community fiber infrastructure.

This represents a significant opportunity for our community to receive a major infrastructure upgrade without the expenditure of Co-op funds or the need for a special assessment related to the installation.

What to Expect

· WECOM crews will be working in various areas of the resort during the installation period.

· Construction activities may include trenching, directional boring, placement of conduit, and installation of fiber-optic cables and equipment.

· Temporary disruptions to traffic flow, parking, or access to certain areas may occur while work is underway.

· Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience and restore affected areas promptly after construction.

Important Information

· The installation of the fiber infrastructure does not obligate any member to subscribe to WECOM services.

· Members who wish to receive service will have the opportunity to contact WECOM directly for information regarding available plans, pricing, and connection options.

· The Board will continue to monitor the project and work with WECOM to address concerns and ensure that work is completed in a professional manner.

Project Benefits

The Board believes this project will provide several long-term benefits to the community, including:

· Access to reliable high-speed internet service.

· Enhanced support for remote work, online learning, telehealth services, and streaming applications.

· Increased attractiveness of the resort to current and prospective members.

· Modernization of the community's communications infrastructure.

· A valuable infrastructure improvement provided at no cost to the Co-op.

Questions and Updates

The Board will provide additional updates as construction schedules become available. Members with questions or concerns may submit them to the Board in writing so they can be addressed and shared with the community when appropriate.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this project. The Board believes this federally funded infrastructure investment will provide lasting benefits to Mountain View Resort Co-op and its members for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Board of Directors Mountain View Resort Co-op
